چکیده

Background & Method: The aim of the study is to compare sensory and motor blockade produced by caudal Bupivacaine Ropivacaine in pediatric patients. Patients were randomly allocated 1 2 groups (n = 25) using a random number table, receive block with either Inj (0.25%) 1ml/kg (Group I) or Inj. II). Result: mean age distribution Group almost same without any significant difference. Heart rate systolic arterial pressures measured at specific time intervals showed no Conclusion: Present was designed effect bupivacaine versus ropivacaine used patients, prospective randomized controlled study. Mean score different postoperatively more for group but similar.

Prospective Randomized Controlled Comparison of Caudal Bupivacaine and Ropivacaine in Pediatric Patients

BACKGROUND Bupivacaine and ropivacaine are commonly used agents for caudal anesthesia in pediatric patients. Several studies have shown different motor and cardiovascular effects of two drugs. AIM The primary objective of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of both drugs and secondary objective was to compare motor blockade and hemodynamic effects caused by them. SUBJECTS AND METHODS Th...

Effects of ketamine added to ropivacaine in pediatric caudal block.

OBJECTIVES We aimed to determine the hemodynamic effects and postoperative pain control quality of ropivacaine and ketamine addition to ropivacaine in children undergoing inguinal hernia repair with caudal anesthesia. METHODS A total of 45 patients (1-4 years) scheduled to undergo inguinal hernia repair were studied. Anesthesia was induced with sevoflurane in O2/N2O and vecuronium was adminis...

A comparison of Ropivacaine alone and in combination with Fentanyl for caudal analgesia in pediatric patients

Caudal analgesia is a very popular route to provide intraoperative and postoperative analgesia in children because of its simple technique, predictable level of blockade, high success rate and smooth recovery. It can be used mainly for perineal and sub umbilical procedures. Ropivacaine, the S-enantiomer of the amide local anesthetic, produces differential neural blockade, with lesser motor bloc...

Comparison Of Epidural Bupivacaine 0.5% With Epidural Ropivacaine 0.75% For Lower Limb Orthopedic Procedures

Epidural blockade is becoming one of the most useful and versatile procedures in modern anesthesiology. Bupivacaine is a long acting amide local anaesthetic which is widely used since many years. However, it is associated with a number of side effects like Central Nervous System (CNS) toxicity and cardiotoxicity. Ropivacaine is a newly introduced long acting amide local anaesthetic drug in Indi...
